Something X-Mas? by Mark Hurst
Here is my something xmas image. Not really sure why I ended up doing a zombie like Santa, it just kind of felt right, as strange as that is. Well I hope everyone has happy holidays and a great new year. See you all next year.

Turtle by: Mark Hurst
Well here's my sketch for this week. I grew up watching and reading anything I could with the Ninja Turtles on it. It wasn't until much much later I realized where they had come from. So here's a more traditional turtle (no colored headband). Plus it had been a while since I had broke out the prisma markers so it turned out better then expected.

TMNT: KRANGed, by Josh Lynch
I always loved Krang's design. Him and all the Dimension X stuff was always my favorite as a kid. Krang has a bit of Kirby flair to his design.
Here's an extra turtle sketch

TMNT: Leo kills The Shredder
I was (surprise!) a big Turtles fan as a kid, on the basis of the action figures and the cartoon. I didn't read the comic it was based on until much later. I have no idea how Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird spun their weird, violent parody comic into millions of dollars, but mad respect to them for it. The first issue is the Turtle's origin story that culminates with a classic rooftop battle against the Shredder and his elite Foot Soldiers. The turtles kill everyone and Leonardo stabs the Shredder...but leaves him alive enough to commit seppuku afterword.
Eastman/Laird's version.
My take.

Narrative: Maynards by Mark Hurst
OK so I know it's a couple days late but here is my narrative. All I have to say about this strip is... well it was a quick sketch and pretty much sums up any new employees first day at my job.

Narrative: "Worf Loses a Bet" by Mike McMahon
I had planned on doing an 8 page short story, but wasn't able to get much of it done (you can see what I did get done here).
So I took a cue from Josh's post and just did a quick strip.

Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen by Justin Zyduck
You have always accepted the conventional explanation that the "Paul is dead" theory was a hoax. Jimmy Olsen does not. That is why Jimmy Olsen is Superman's pal and has time-travel adventures and dates a foxy stewardess, whereas last night you debated whether the five-day-old Chinese food in your fridge is still good, decided it probably wasn't, but then ate it anyway.
All men are chumps before Jimmy Olsen.
(Looking forward to the fake JO covers y'all are gonna come up with, dudes.)

Minions of Apocalypse: Metron, I mean Zodac by Rob Ayotte
I'm so sorry dropping out of sight for a while. AND I'm sorry that I did not follow the guide lines to the Minions of Apocalypse theme. MY EXCUSE: It is said that Masters of the Universe is very influenced by Jack Kirby's New Gods and that the most obvious parallel is between Zodac and Metron. They are both neutral observers who fly around in chairs and so on. If you Wicki Zodac it'll tell you all about it. I've been trying to get this color/painting/ digital art thing down and also trying to have a decent set of MOTU pieces for my portfolio so this seemed like a good choice for me. I hope ya'll can forgive me if you feel that this was out of bounds. A lot of wonderful work was produced while I've been away from the site! I've enjoyed looking and will continue to do so.Take care,
Rob
