So, I just finished reading a book about Jack Kirby so with that still fresh in my mind I decided to do a Kirby cover. I came across Thor #168 where he is chasing down Galactus, who stops him and begins telling his origin. I thought it was pretty interesting so I started to sketch only to find out that the design I was doing was similar to the continuation of the story in Thor #169. So enjoy of the variations I did with this (all have minor changes that you probably can't tell). Here are the covers for 168 &169.

Westerns: Firefly by Mike McMahon
When it comes to space westerns, in my opinion, Firefly is king. I thought it'd be fun to do a short story from one of my all time favorite shows. It's the first time I've ever written or drawn something of it and with any luck, I was able to get the spirit of the show and the characters.
The pages are very sketchy so that I could post 'em in time, but I think there's enough there for the story to make sense. Hopefully down the road I'll be able to ink it and put more detail into it and make it look better over all.

Man with No Name by Mark Hurst
So when I think western I think Clint Eastwood, as I'm sure many do. Just trying some different things in Photoshop.

Westerns: the Wild West Was Here page
Great theme Kyle. I LOVE westerns. Since Kyle suggested Wyatt Earp or space western I figured I had to post a page from my book the Wild West Was Here, which is both about Wyatt Earp and space. Cheating you say? Yes, this an old drawing. However it does fit the criteria and as soon as I find the time I plan on coming back to draw the next book.

Gritty Reboot (Robot): Hamlet by Mike McMahon

When I originally read Justin's email, I read "gritty reboot" as "gritty robot". And I thought to myself, what property wouldn't usually have gritty robots in it, and I came up with Shakespeare. I thought a scene from Hamlet with robots would look kinda cool.
It wasn't until after I did the sketch I decided to take a look at the email to check something and I saw that it really said reboot.
But it can still work right? That's right, cause now Hamlet has been rebooted as an alternate world with robots in a medieval setting that not only have to worry about revenge and evil Uncle's, they have to worry about rust. And nothing's grittier than rust.

Stand Up Comedian: Gabriel Iglesias
So, first off as for favorite stand up, I really don't have a favorite. But, Iglesias was on my mind this past week so here it is. Mr. Fluffy himself and the little girl (don't remember her name) from Despicable Me. The idea popped into my head and I had to draw it. Had tons of fun doing this since I got to sit around and just watch standup on Netflix. Great pic for this week.

Stand-Up Comedians: Reggie Watts by Eric Schuster
Reggie Watts is the man. Almost everything he does is improvised, looping his beatboxing with silly phrases and sound effects to make some remarkable songs. He's kind of hard to explain, so here's him derpin' around, doing what he does best:

Pokemon Battles: Nidoking vs Pikachu, by Eric Schuster
Fuck yeah Pokemon. When I first played through the original Pokemon (Red version), my Nidoking saved my team during the long haul through the cave under Mount Moon.
