Minions of Apocalypse: Metron, I mean Zodac by Rob Ayotte

I'm so sorry dropping out of sight for a while. AND I'm sorry that I did not follow the guide lines to the Minions of Apocalypse theme. MY EXCUSE: It is said that Masters of the Universe is very influenced by Jack Kirby's New Gods and that the most obvious parallel is between Zodac and Metron. They are both neutral observers who fly around in chairs and so on. If you Wicki Zodac it'll tell you all about it. I've been trying to get this color/painting/ digital art thing down and also trying to have a decent set of MOTU pieces for my portfolio so this seemed like a good choice for me. I hope ya'll can forgive me if you feel that this was out of bounds. A lot of wonderful work was produced while I've been away from the site! I've enjoyed looking and will continue to do so.Take care,
Rob

BigFoot vs Theodore Roosevelt

Okey Dokey. Here's the Rough Rider, his Big Stick, and my historical character, Bigfoot squaring off. Teddy R did believe is the Sasquatch and so do I. If that makes you laugh you can kiss my ass. Any how, Mark I'm so sorry I have to pass on the Kirby Romance theme. Blah Blah excuses..
I hope you guys enjoy this, I know I did. Take Care!

Scarlett Loves Snake-Eyes

Damn my shit is late. Reason being, this thing took over. I love these characters. Background for non G.I. Joe people: Fuck Duke, duke is a stupid character and the only reason they put him with Scarlett, i.e. cartoons is because the creators or whomever are too lazy to write a character who cant speak. They'd have to show subtitles and have sign language, which would be sweet. So instead of that they hook her up with some blond Aryan motherfucker. Larry Hama did a awesome job creating characters, writing and sometimes drawing the marvel books, but almost everybody else has shit on this property. Gi Joe Resolute and Renegades are awesome though if your curious. Ok Blah blah ablah

Daredevil by Rob Ayotte

So I was trying some new things for me,. I worked metaphorically. I'm always thinking that good art doesn't need explanations, so I hesitate when I offer one. I'm not saying this is good art in fact through most of it's production I felt lost. Any who, the concepts I was considering concerning Daredevil were, Christan martydom (St Sebastian), Justice, and his love and weakness towards women. I' m a huge Daredevil fan and with so many great artists working on him I really wanted to try and do something different. Not too sure if I succeeded but here it is.
My couples piece is gonna be really late, this one just wouldn't relent .

Joker by Rob Ayotte

I considered other batman villains like Killer Croc. He could be fun but I know if I didn't do the Joker I'd be wishing I had. The Joker is a sincere favorite of mine. I've been wanting to do a nice pic of him for a while, so I thank Mike for the opportunity.

Beth Davis by Rob Ayotte

You know I just thought of something I could do and went with it. Am I the guy that gets people presents that he would actually really like himself? Yeah, but this isn't necessarily that situation. Beth told me she likes Northlanders, a great comic set in the Viking age. I also like what I've read of that book and definitely that genre.
She also digs Batman, Black Canary, strong coffee, beer, and arts and crafts. I hope I touched on a few of those topics- i.e. indirectly. It was great fun.

Rob Ayotte by Justin Zyduck

Most of the Minions posting here, I gather, know each other from MCAD and the general Minneapolis scene. I, however, really only know Josh Lynch and live in Wisconsin ("the Other Minnesota"), and so the rest of you are all mysterious to me. So when Josh picked this week's theme in which each of us would draw someone else, I had to do some investigation on the subject of Rob. Through digging I found out that he can play the violin, which I do not know how to draw. I also found out that he has teaching experience and did a mural with high school students, but I do not know what this mural looks like.

Then he told me he likes Masters of the Universe villains, and I sure as hell know how to draw those. I've always been dodgy with likenesses (it took me about three years before I could draw a reasonable cartoon of my wife), so I hope the Skeletor body mod makes up for it.

(P.S. - Super lame colors, I know, but it had to be colored somehow (just isn't Skeletor if he's not blue and purple) and I don't have your guys' fancy Web tablets and Photo-shoppe.)
