Original Work: Nevic - "Outnumbered" by Mike McMahon
I created Nevic years ago back in college and his larger story has changed and evolved over the years, but finally found the right one and had a first issue self-published last year. Still working on the long overdue second issue. I've done a few short stories with him as well.
Featured in the drawing is Desi Lennox, Tal Nevic, and Kron

Westerns: Firefly by Mike McMahon
When it comes to space westerns, in my opinion, Firefly is king. I thought it'd be fun to do a short story from one of my all time favorite shows. It's the first time I've ever written or drawn something of it and with any luck, I was able to get the spirit of the show and the characters.
The pages are very sketchy so that I could post 'em in time, but I think there's enough there for the story to make sense. Hopefully down the road I'll be able to ink it and put more detail into it and make it look better over all.

Gritty Reboot (Robot): Hamlet by Mike McMahon

When I originally read Justin's email, I read "gritty reboot" as "gritty robot". And I thought to myself, what property wouldn't usually have gritty robots in it, and I came up with Shakespeare. I thought a scene from Hamlet with robots would look kinda cool.
It wasn't until after I did the sketch I decided to take a look at the email to check something and I saw that it really said reboot.
But it can still work right? That's right, cause now Hamlet has been rebooted as an alternate world with robots in a medieval setting that not only have to worry about revenge and evil Uncle's, they have to worry about rust. And nothing's grittier than rust.

Tim Burton: 'Batman Returns' by Mike McMahon

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA the last few weeks, it's been a hectic month. And I'm also in NY right now for vacation so haven't gotten as much artwork done as I thought I would.
Anyway, I plan on catching up on the themes I've missed and to start off, here's a quick drawing of Batman & Catwoman from Burton's 'Batman Returns'

Narrative: "Worf Loses a Bet" by Mike McMahon

I had planned on doing an 8 page short story, but wasn't able to get much of it done (you can see what I did get done here).
So I took a cue from Josh's post and just did a quick strip.

Indiana Jones and The Rocketeer: The Curse of the Dreyrugr Amulet by Mike McMahon

Yes, this is why I picked WWII for the theme, so that I can do this image.
It's 1941, and an evil Nazi general goes to Norway in search of the ancient Dreyrugr Amulet. With it, he will raise a powerful army of undead Viking warriors. Combined with the Nazi war machine, they will be almost unstoppable. Almost.
There are only two men that can stop them from world domination: Indiana Jones and The Rocketeer.
Some notes about the drawing...the evil Nazi General up at the top is supposed to be Gary Oldman, but I found trying to get a decent likeness of him at that small a size was pretty difficult. There were a bunch of other characters I wanted to put in it but just couldn't find the room, but you can see the actor's who would play them in the credits.
And for now, I have to use a photo of the drawing because I don't think I'm going to have time to go to Kinko's this weekend and get a scan, but hopefully soon I'll be able to replace it.
